SHOT BLASTING PURIFICATION

The mechanization of the process of removing contaminants from the inner surface of large cylindrical tanks is one of the most difficult tasks of agricultural and transport engineering. Such problems have not been solved at engineering plants producing nuclear reactors, oil tanks, chemical and biological apparatuses. To date, this time-consuming operation is performed predominantly manually. From mechanical methods of cleaning the surface of metal products from mechanical and oxidative deposits before the application of protective non-metallic coatings, shot-blasting (SHB) was obtained. Especially effective is the use of SHB for cavities of large products, where other processing methods are of little use. This is due to technological flexibility, environmental safety, high productivity, operational reliability and economic efficiency of subsidiaries.

SHOT BLASTING HANDLING

For the complete processing of parts, welded-type assemblies and rolled products, both chemical and mechanical methods are used. The elimination of contamination mechanically is carried out using shot blasting mechanisms. Used machines for stripping, the working parts of which are metal brushes, needle cutters, grinding wheels and shaving. Shot blasting is used for rolled sheets and welded-type assemblies if the metal thickness is above 3 mm. In shot blasting devices, the rotor blades eject the shot (Efficiency is much higher and processing is much more economical, however, the blades quickly become unusable).

SHOT BLASTING DRUM?

There are uninterrupted and interrupted actions. The drum of periodic operation consists of a drum with high rigidity, shot blasting heads are located in its frontal part. For processing castings that are prone to cracking, use a shot blasting drum. In which the plate conveyor is replaced by a rubber band. The maximum mass of castings is not more than three tons, the time required for cleaning is about 10-15 minutes. In the drum of uninterrupted action, a spiral is welded inside the drum, which is made of sheet. Thanks to this spiral, castings move along the drum.
