DIESEL PLANT – PAINTING OF FREIGHT WAGONS

This is our first work of this magnitude – a double, painting and drying chamber for painting freight wagons. It is intended for painting and for drying freight wagons. The chamber was designed and manufactured for “Diesel Plant” joint-stock company, which is located in the city of Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. Work on the painting chamber, we started in March 2011, and in July were carried out installation and commissioning. The paint booth is located in the working area, it has a special foundation base with exhaust air ducts, and a service pit that allows painting wagons from the bottom. This paint booth for wagons provides a self-sufficient and completed cycle of work on applying and further drying coatings on the surface of freight wagons or other products, the maximum size of which does not exceed the dimensions of the wagons according to the statement of work. The chamber has an internal size of 32000x6000x6000h mm, which allows you to simultaneously handle two freight wagons with a length of up to 15 meters each.

THE PAINTING CHAMBER FOR CARS CONSISTS OF:

The cabin of the paint booth protects the paint zone from environmental influences, prevents dust from entering the painted surface and performs a heat-insulating function. Cab components:
Walls and ceiling. In this case, we used sandwich panels with fireproof filler (mineral wool), a thickness of 80 mm and a galvanic two-layer polymer coating, which consist of a sheet of zinc 275 g / m2 thick and a 0.55 mm thick lacquer polymer coat. The panels are resistant to high temperatures (up to 180 ° C) and to high levels of humidity, which makes it possible to use the camera outdoors.
The suspended plenum ceiling cleans and evenly distributes heated air throughout the chamber. It is made of profile metal pipes and angles on which ceiling filters are made of non-flammable material. High-quality air filtration is ensured by specially designed filter frames that have excellent peripheral sealing. The ceiling frames are designed and manufactured in such a way that they can be easily dismantled, which makes it possible to make quick filter changes.
A set of floor gratings with ejection filter cartridges for capturing paint mist and other suspended particles in the air that is ejected from the chamber. The filter cartridges are placed vertically in the foundation, while debris and suspended particles remain on the floor of the pit and do not fall onto the filter.
Sealed gates with dimensions 3600×4000 have viewing windows. Roller shutter gates have thermal insulation and excellent sealing. The painting and drying chamber has one airtight and insulated service door for personnel to pass through.
The lighting of the chamber consists of two uppers, located at an angle of 45° to the ceiling, and two side rows of fluorescent lamps, which provide a level of illumination in the chamber of at least 1000lux, which makes it possible to best assess the quality of the application of paintwork. Luminaires have a degree of protection IP65 (water and dust protected).
The thermo-ventilation group consists of four inlets and two twin exhaust thermal ventilation cabin (TVC). They provide preliminary cleaning, heating and supply of clean air, and then cleaning and exhaust air. The temperature is set by the operator in the range of 16-24 ° C in the painting mode and 20-70 ° C in the drying mode. And the air exchange is fixed at a level of at least 200 and 50 times per hour in the painting and drying mode, respectively, due to which high-quality blowing and drying of the painted product is ensured, and acceptable conditions for the operator to work during painting are achieved (meet EU labor protection standards). Each TVC consists of:
● Powerful centrifugal fan with an electric motor up to 40 thousand m3 / h
● A heat exchanger made of heat-resistant steel with a gas burner type NG 350 CIB Unigas was used as a heat generator
● Gate valves for air supply, discharge and recirculation. They open and close with the help of electric drives, and they are controlled by a control panel with automation and control systems
● A pocket-type prefilter purifies the air before feeding it into the plenum suspended ceiling.

The control panel with automation and control systems for the paint booth for buses consists of a set of sensors for monitoring pressure, air flow, temperature, different meters, regulators, etc., which are consistent with each other and control all the nodes of the paint booth for cars. In addition, this control panel is equipped with converters that regulate the frequency of rotation of electric motors, and at the same time, the air flow in the chamber.

The painting of freight wagons in this chamber is carried out by the manual, pneumatic method of applying coatings. The paint booth has been operating successfully for the past three years, without ever causing complaints from the owners, which is a perfect confirmation of the quality of our products.
